You don’t have to be big to BEE mighty!

What do bees and Alfdex have in common? Perhaps more than you might imagine.

Like the honeybee, Alfdex is small, highly innovative and punches above its weight. We use the art of engineering and g-Technology to create smart and sustainable solutions that protect the environment. In their unique way, bees contribute to a healthy ecosystem through a vital process known as pollination. Smart solutions for a better world.

In the same spirit, we’ve invited a local beekeeper to use our roof as a base for his activities. Right now, he has a couple of hives, each housing an average of 50,000 to 80,000 honeybees. So, from top to bottom, our building is full of busy coworkers.

Have a great summer! And remember to always bee kind!

Alfdex secures prototype order for new green tech

We are proud to announce our first prototype order for the new Alfdex g-Heater!

Launched at the IAA show in Hanover last year, the Alfdex g-Heater features a highly effective and fuel independent process for heating of battery packs and cabs on commercial vehicles.

The technology is based on a leading-edge, patented technology platform featuring catalytic combustion of gases and liquid fuels.

With this order Alfdex takes the next step into the future beyond fossil fuel dependent transports. The prototype will be delivered to a major truck OEM.

NEWS RELEASE: Alfdex wins 2 BSEK g-Cleaner contract with major global truck and bus manufacturer

Alfdex AB has won a contract to supply electric and hydraulic disc separators to a major global truck and bus manufacturer. The contract establishes Alfdex’s position as a market leader in electric disc separator technology. Production is expected to start in 2025 and revenues in total are expected to exceed 2 BSEK over the coming decade.

Alfdex has a long history of leading the market and providing reliable and high-performing solutions for the active cleaning of crankcase gases in heavy-duty truck engines. With the onset of even more stringent emission legislation, such as Euro VII, as well as new demands for CO2 reductions, Alfdex now supplies a range of electrically powered disc separators. These combine the robust, maintenance-free design of the original Alfdex separator with a state-of-the-art electric drive unit, enabling even higher performance and precise control via software.

“This contract shows that the market welcomes our next steps in developing new and improved generations of separators,” says Fredrik Larsson, CEO of Alfdex. “This latest generation of our g-Cleaner will provide our customers with even better performance and lower energy consumption. Most importantly, it will enable trucks and buses to lower their emissions which is beneficial from an environmental perspective.”

About Alfdex

Alfdex is the world leader in reducing crankcase emissions from combustion engines by using an active separation system, referred to as the Alfdex g-Cleaner. The separation principle is based upon Alfa Laval’s long experience in centrifugal separator technology. Alfdex has specialized this technology for separating particles and liquid droplets from gas. The majority of new heavy trucks in North America, China and Europe are using Alfdex-separators, and today over 6 million heavy trucks are equipped with an Alfdex system, thereby preventing over 100 million litres of oil from being released into the environment annually. Recently, Alfdex has started venturing into new application areas, including thermal management for commercial vehicles. The company is a 50/50 joint venture between Alfa Laval and Concentric AB.

Alfdex contributing to cutting-edge Hydrogen research at Chalmers University of Technology

For heavy duty trucks, hydrogen could become a sustainable fuel for the combustion engine of tomorrow. This fuel offers benefits in terms of vehicle range, performance, relative technical maturity and existing fueling infrastructure. Projects are ongoing throughout the truck- and engine industry to adapt next generation engines to suit hydrogen and we at Alfdex are already involved.

A hydrogen project Alfdex are proud to be involved in, is running at the Chalmers University of Technology, Division of Energy Conversion and Propulsion Systems, in Göteborg, Sweden. Alfdex contributes with an Alfdex g-Cleaner that makes it possible to optimize the performance of the engine.

Chalmers University of Technology was founded in 1892 and conducts research and education in technology and natural sciences at world class level. The university has 3100 employees and 10,000 students.
